My main duty is 'vehicle transfer.' I go to pick up cars purchased from customers and drive them back to the company. After returning, I clean the vehicles, check their condition, and transport them to auction venues. I handle this entire workflow. Currently, I'm working as a contractor, mainly on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Yes, I'm working on this as a side job while employed at a construction company. I found the Calbo job about a year ago through a gig work app. Initially, I just came in for a one-time gig to earn some extra money, but CEO Masuda happened to ask me directly, 'Would you consider working with us regularly?' Since then, I've been working here on my days off from my main job. At construction sites, I drive various vehicles including large special vehicles, so I was already used to driving. I found it appealing to be able to leverage my strengths.

I've been doing it for over a year, and I feel it suits me. The transfer driver role doesn't involve loading cargo or carrying passengers — it's about moving cars, so once you get used to it, it's straightforward work. I've been comfortable driving since long ago, and the cleaning work suits my personality of focusing and working quietly. I can work at my own pace without strain, so it feels ideal as a side job. Conversely, my main job demands physical strength and communication with others, so the transfer driver work serves as a refreshing break in a good sense.

Even though I'm used to driving, these are products, so I drive with extreme caution to avoid accidents. Sometimes I drive luxury cars, which makes me quite nervous. Also, since it's a small workplace, I sometimes support management tasks like dispatch and schedule coordination, which can feel burdensome. However, I've heard they plan to increase staff, so once a smoother operational structure is in place, I think it will become even easier to work.

It varies by day, but vehicle pickup and cleaning are the main tasks. On weekends, for example, I typically handle one pickup in the morning and one in the afternoon, totaling two per day. Specifically, I arrive at the office at 9 AM, take public transit to the customer's location, drive the acquired vehicle back to the office, and that completes one cycle. The afternoon follows the same pattern. Each trip takes about 2 hours one way, so completing two can fill the entire day. On days with only one pickup, I spend the time on cleaning work.

As I mentioned, driving luxury and imported cars is definitely nerve-wracking. Larger vehicles require extra caution. There was a time when the engine stopped during driving and I was stranded at an intersection, which was quite stressful. Regardless of the vehicle, I always maintain a safety-first mindset while driving.

Relationships with staff and other drivers are good. We meet face-to-face when I come in and clean together, or exchange information via LINE. Transfer driving is basically individual work, but since there's interaction with teammates, there's no sense of isolation. The atmosphere is definitely not bad — rather, it's a warm workplace. I think it's an environment where even newcomers can work comfortably.

Someone who is honest and can respond flexibly to situations. Much of the transfer work is completed independently, but communication with teammates and customers is essential. Rather than 'I'm done when my time is up,' people who can go the extra mile earn more trust. Conversely, someone who only does what they're told might find it hard to fit into this environment. I myself continue to be involved with Calbo Motor Cars as a side job while balancing my main career. If you have the desire to 'love driving' or 'leverage your strengths,' this is a job you can take on even without experience, so anyone with even a little interest should definitely apply!
